The Georgetown Library Project

Alaska State Library. “Trip to Alaska ca. 1910-1920 Photo Collection”

The Georgetown Library Project is the brainchild of Eric Dietrich, the Native Village of Georgetown Program Director and historian extraordinaire. He built a digital library on Georgetown’s history by searching the deep troves of the internet, following leads in old newspapers and reaching out to libraries across the state.

To date, the Georgetown Library focuses on the Gold Rush period, mining, traditional ecological knowledge and fisheries of the Kuskokwim.

The Georgetown Library continues to grow as we add new resources. Please contact us if you have any historical information to share.

Thank you Eric!
