Cinnibar King of Kuskokwim in Anchorage

In 1934, E. W. Parks left the cinnibar deposits he mined near Georgetown and visited Anchorage. During his visit, he provided the Anchorage Daily Times with updates about his mining operations and general news about the Kuskokwim. He reported the development as highly satisfactory, and the newspaper describes Parks’ properties as “the best known cinnibar deposits in the territory” and “ideally situated for accessibility”. Mr Parks reported that moose and beaver are fore more numerous and that trappers should be permitted to take them.
