Federal Register: Formation of The Kuskokwim Corporation

The Federal Register is the journal of the United States government. In it, the government publishes rules, proposed rules and public notices. The 1982 edition of the Federal Register announced the formation of The Kuskokwim Corporation.

As stated in the Federal Register (Page 118-120 of pdf):

“On November 18, 1974, Georgetown Incorporated, for the Native village of Georgetown, filed selection application F-14860-A, as amended, under the provisions of Sec. 12(a) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of December 18, 1971, 43 U.S.C. 1601, 1611 (1976) (ANCSA), for the surface estate of certain lands in the vicinity of Georgetown.

On April 25, 1977, in accordance with Title 10, Chapter 05, Secs. 396 and 399 of the Alaska Business Corporation Act, and as authorized by 43 U.S.C. 1627, Georgetown Incorporated, a domestic corporation, merged with Aniak Limited, Chuathbaluk Company, Kipchaughpuk Limited, Lower Kalskag Incorporated, Napamute Limited, Red Devil Incorporated, Sleetmute Limited, Stony River Ltd., amd Upper Kalskag Incorporated, all domestic corporations, into Georgetown Incorporated, which consolidated individual village interests into one single constituent corporation whose name was changed to The Kuskokwim Corporation. The surviving corporation, The Kuskokwim Corporation, is entitled to all rights, privileges, and benefits of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.”
